Wookey Hole Caves, Somerset
Archaeologists have found evidence that places man in the Wookey Hole Caves as far back as 50,000 years when it was home to both humans and animals.
Today, the caves are open with tours that explain their history and to tell the tale of the legendary Wookey Witch.
Above ground there are lots of attractions for visitors. There is a museum with displays on the history of the caves, archaeological excavations and cave diving. For children there is Victorian penny arcade Indoor pirate play area, mirror maze, Valley of Dinosaurs, fairy garden, pirate island adventure golf and much more.
During the summer there is a Wookey Hole Youth Circus who demonstrate a variety of circus skills.
Visit the cheese shop which sells cheese made in the cave's ideal conditions pf high humidity but constant cool temperatures.
There is a Big Top restaurant, a cafe and Witch's kitchen serving meals, snacks and drinks.

Disabled Facilities
Access to the caves is not possible for wheelchair users as there are 200 steps and low head heights. There is disabled access to the Mill and the Valley though.
