The National Seal Sanctuary, Cornwall

Situated in the pretty village of Gweek in Cornwall, the National Seal Sanctuary has over 50 years of experience in rescuing and rehabilitating seals.

Visitors to the sanctuary can view the facilities used to look after injured or abandoned seals which includes the hospital, convalescence and rehabilitation pools. For a better look at these creatures, you can view them through the underwater viewing gallery.

The sanctuary has a variety of seals in its pools including Grey seals, Common seals and Fur seals as well as Californian and Patagonian Sea Lions. Other residents include Otters, Penguins, sheep, goats and ponies.

There are daily interactive talks and demonstrations from experienced staff and lots of information on how the seals are rescued.

Opening Times

Open every day apart from Christmas Day from 10am.
Please check with the centre for spring, summer, autumn and winter closing times, as these may vary.
