Tenby Castle, Tenby
Tenby Castle dates from 1153 but the remaining ruins are from the 13th century. Over the years the town walls took over as the main defence of Tenby. Much of these 13th century walls survive, the most complete in Wales along with a round gateway, the West Gate, which was one of four entrances to the town. It is likey the castle has already fallen to ruin by the 14th century. The castle was badly damaged during the Civil War.
