Tatton Park, Cheshire

Tatton Park is a 2000 acre estate in Cheshire, once home to the Egerton family but now managed by Cheshhire Country Council on behalf of the National Trust.

There is a one off entrance fee for cars into the park where visitors can explore 1000 acres of the beautiful country estate by foot, bike or horseback. The lakes offer a chance to fish or sail and there are plenty of placees to enjoy a picnic. There are additional entrance fees for the Mansion, Gardens and Farm or you can buy a total Tatton ticket to see everything, which works out cheaper.

The farming estate has a history dating back to the Bronze age and the Deer park has existed since 1920, with rare breeds of deer still inhabiting the parkland. The Mansion house was built at the turn of the 18th Century and houses fine collections of paintings, art and furniture. Visitors can take a tour through the State apartments, the bedrooms and the servant's quarters. The 50 acre gardens surrounding the house are stunning, with a walled garden, Japanese garden and glasshouses as just some of the highlights.

Children are easily entertained at the adventure playground or the farm which shows what life was like in the 1930's.

Tatton Park utilises its land by hosting around 100 events each year from classic car shows to triathlons. To find out more about these events check the website or call for details.

Opening Times

Tatton Park is open all year round. Opening times vary in the high and low season.

From March to September opening times are as follows:

Mansion - Tuesday - Sunday 1pm-5pm
Park - all week, 10am -7pm
Gardens - Tuesday to Sunday 10am -6pm
Farm - Tuesday to Sunday 12 - 5pm
