Visitors are welcome to visit the cathedral which is over 750 years old.

Salisbury: Old Sarum was the site of the original castle, church and settlement. The story goes that the Bishop shot an arrow. The place where it landed was where the new cathedral was to be built and the town of Salisbury grew up around the cathedral.

Tower tours can be arranged and you will go up 330 steps  and takes 90 minutes. Limit of 12 in each group. No children under 5. Special tours outside these times can be arranged. These are scheduled tours which can be booked in advance. Visitors can explore the spectacular roof space. Inclement weather can delay the tower tours.

General Tours include the ground floor of the Cathedral and its chapels, the Cloisters, the Chapter House and the Magna Carta of 1215.
