Royal Academy of Arts, London
The Royal Academy of Arts houses British paintings and sculptures from the 18th century to the present day. Highlights in the collection include major works by Reynolds, Gainsborough, Turner, Constable, Alma-Tadema, Flaxman, Millais, Leighton, Waterhouse, Sargent, Spencer and Hockney. Other art collections feature drawings, prints, historic books, archives, historic photographs and plaster casts.
The Royal Academy does not receive financial support from the state or crown and sources revenue by hosting temporary public art exhibitions. For up to date information on current exhibitions see the website or call for details.
The Academy also has one of the finest Arts library in the UK and is open to the public by appointment only.
There is a restaurant, café and shop.
