Nelson Museum, Norfolk, Great Yarmouth

The Nelson Museum is housed in a Grade II listed Georgian Merchant's house in Great Yarmouth where visitors can learn more about Horatio Nelson and his childhood in Norfolk.

The museums collection began with the Nelson collection of local agriculturalist Ben Burgess, who was a life-long collector of Nelson related artefacts. The Nelson Museum celebrates the life and times of Admiral Horatio Nelson and visitors can explore his career, his famous battles and tragic, heroic death, as well as his complicated love life. There are galleries, with a new temporary exhibition every two years as well as interactive exhibits and games for children.

There is also an extensive reference library available for researchers, by appointment.

Visitors can relax in the picnic area of the Maritime Courtyard and wander around the Georgian herb garden.
