LEGOLAND Discovery Centre - Manchester, Manchester

Legoland Discovery centre in Manchester is the perfect place for those who love building with lego. Parents can take a trip down memory lane and get constructing too. There are 2 million lego bricks within the centre which includes a Miniland where 1.5 million bricks make up a city scene complete with moving planes, trains and helicopters.

There is a 4D cinema which shows an action adventure film in 3d with the added dimension being wind, lightning, snow and rain.

Have you ever wondered how lego is made? Well a guided tour of a lego factory will show you how plastic is moulded into the famous lego brick shape and you can even take your own brick home.

The centre also has an interactive adventure ride which requires you to use a laser gun to shoot trolls and rescue a princess.

For younger children there is Duplo village or the Fire Academy which is basically a giant lego play area.

The centre can get very busy at peak times so it is recommended that you pre-book tickets as this will guarantee you entry.

Of course there is a shop where you can purchase some lego, among other things, and a cafe.

Lego fans might also enjoy a visit to Legoland, Windsor, near London.
