Jorvik Viking Centre, York

Everything in the Jorvik Viking Centre is based on the evidence unearthed at the site. An incredible 40,000 objects were discovered by archaeologists including 10th century Viking-age buildings.

Visitors tour part of the museum on a ride to see the replica Viking streets which have authentic sights, sounds and smells. Come face to face with a real Viking and learn how they lived 1000 years ago. In the exhibition Artefacts Alive, watch out for the four Viking ghosts! You can see coins being made and examine Viking bones to discover what they ate and how they died. There is also a gift shop.
