Hard Rock Cafe Experience, London

This is the first ever Hard Rock Cafe which opened in London in 1971. The cafe was unique at the time, by selling casual American food within a rock and roll setting. The food, service and rock ambience was an instant hit and the brand was soon rolled out around the world.

The Hard Rock Cafes are attractive to visitors who want to see the wide range of rock memorabilia that is displayed. The first ever piece of memorabilia donated to the cafe was Eric Clapton's Lead II Fender and it is still in the London venue today. Other items in the "Vault" include Madonna's bustier from her 1990 Blonde Ambition tour, the harpsichord used by the Beatles for "All you need is love" and the Sex Pistols guitarist Glen Matlock's first guitar.

There is no entry charge to "The Vault" which is open 7 days a week from 12 midday until 9pm.

Typical food at the cafe is burgers, grilled sandwiches, salads and BBQ ribs or chicken. There is a menu for kids.

There is also a "Rock shop" selling an array of merchandise.
