Dover Museum & Bronze Age Boat Gallery, Kent

Dover Bronze Age boat is one of the few Bronze Age boats to be found in Britain. It dates to 1575-1520BC. The boat was made using oak planks sewn together with yew lashings. This technique has a long tradition of use in British prehistory.

The museum's collection includes a number of displays:
- Archaeology gallery — including diorama of Claudius's arrival on elephant at Richborough in 43 AD and full size reconstructed figures of a Celt and a Roman.
- History of Dover town, Cinque Ports and Dover Castle from 1066 to the modern era.
- The 2003 Dover Bronze Age Boat gallery, where the Langdon Bay hoard is also displayed.
- The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions

10am - 5pm Monday to Saturday
10am - 3pm Sunday (April - Sept 2011)
Closed Sundays September to March
Closed December 25th and 26th and on 1st January
