Design Museum, London

The Design Museum offers contemporary design exhibitions ranging from furniture and graphics to architecture and industrial design. The Museum's mission is to celebrate, entertain and inform.

The museum itself was converted from a former Banana warehouse into a building that resembles the International Modernist style of the 1930s. Exhibitions change frequently due to the small size of the museum and previous exhibitions include Manolo Blahnik's Shoe Design, the History of Video Games and the Model T Ford.

The Museum is not subsidised by the Government so there is a charge for entrance but that doesn't stop more than 200,000 people visiting the museum each year.

To keep children happy, they are given a free design action pack to make their visit as stimulating and enjoyable as possible.

Closed on 25th and 26th December
