Bridge Of Oich, Inverness-Shire

James Dredge designed this splendid suspension bridge in 1854. It was built using a sophisticated patented design of double cantilevered chain construction with massive granite pylon arches at either end.

The bridge was used for traffic up until 1932. It crosses the River Oich, but the A82 now passses over a replacement bridge and the canal swing bridge, which are adjacent.
