Borough Markets, 8 Southwark Street, London

Borough Market is the oldest food market in London and is situated in Southwark, South West London. It dates back to Roman times and has been running from its present site for 250 years. Although it is historically a wholesale fruit and vegetable market it is now as famous for being the country's most important retailer of fine foods.

Borough Market is Great Britain's principal centre of food excellence. The Trustees and Traders of Borough Market believe that everyone has a right to eat well.

The Market is a must for food lovers as there are stalls selling a vast array of culinary delights. Visitors are told to come early and to bring a strong bag to carry all their food delights home. The market is open to the public on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
