Bayham Old Abbey, East Sussex
Bayham Abbey, on the Kent-Sussex border is an impressive ruin including much of the 13th to 15th-century church, the chapter house, and a picturesque 14th-century gatehouse. The ground were designed by famous landscape gardener Humphry Repton, who also planned the grounds of Kenwood House in London.
Founded c. 1207 Bayham functioned as an abbey until its dissolution in the 16th century.

Access to abbey and grounds: One step into shop; alternative side gate into grounds has no steps. Abbey mostly accessible except Dower House. Grounds accessible on fairly smooth grass and loose gravel, avoiding slopes; pushers needed. Some benches provided. NB Unfenced sump in grounds.
