Roman Baths Pump Room & Museum, Bath

Bath pump rooms offers visitors one of the best preserved examples of Roman baths in the world. Situated six metres below street level are the four main features, the Sacred Spring, the Roman Temple, the Roman bath house and finds from the Roman Bath.

Stunning first impressions are found on the Terrace which is lined with statues of Roman Governors of Britain, Emperors and military leaders and overlooks the Great Bath. The sacred spring is at the heart of the ancient baths where 240,000 gallons of hot water rises here each day.

In the circular bath visitors will see projected images moving around the baths giving an idea of what it was like when occupied.

There are lots of steps throughout this tourist attraction which make some of it unsuitable for wheelchairs or puschairs. However, they do offer parents a courtesy child carrier for infants and toddlers.
