Althorp House & Park, Northamptonshire

Althorp has been the stately home of the Spencer family for nearly 500 years and is the resting place of Diana, Princess of Wales.

Built in 1508, Althorp has been home to the Spencer family for nearly 500 years. There are 19 rooms in the house open to the public displaying a fine collection of furniture, pictures and ceramics.

Althorp was home to Princess Diana before she joined the Royal family and following her death in 1997 the family created an extensive museum exhibition as a memorial to reflect on her life and work. There are six rooms in the displaying a range of Lady Diana's personal artefacts including the famous bridal gown, childhood letters, school reports, dresses and details of her charity work.

Outside there are beautiful park and gardens where you can enjoy a picnic or alternatively eat in the cafe. Souvenirs can be purchased in the shop.

Adult - £12.50 OAP - £10.50 Child 5-17 - £6.00 Under 5yrs - Free Family (2+3) - £29.50 There is an extra charge of £2.50 to view the upstairs rooms of the house
